Railroad Demolition Crew Laborer (Travel Position)

Love working outdoors? Enjoy traveling? Want a career where no two days are the same? Staiman Recycling is looking for dependable individuals to join our Railroad Demolition Crew. Our crews travel throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states to dismantle retired railroad cars, railroad tracks, bridges, and other large steel structures. The recovered steel is then transported back to our recycling facilities for processing and recycling.

IMPORTANT BEFORE APPLYING:

This position begins with local training in Williamsport, PA.
Once training is complete, you will travel Monday through Thursday with your crew.
You are home every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The company pays for your hotel.
You receive $40 per day meal per diem while traveling.
This is NOT a blasting or explosives position. We use cutting torches, heavy equipment, and specialized tools to dismantle steel structures safely.

What You'll Do: As a member of our Railroad Demolition Crew, you will:

Learn to safely operate oxy-fuel cutting torches.
Help dismantle railroad cars, rail lines, bridges, and heavy steel structures.
Operate mobile equipment (training provided).
Assist with loading and preparing scrap metal for transport.
Maintain a safe, organized job site.
Work alongside an experienced demolition crew.
Follow all company safety procedures.
No prior torch experience is required. We will train motivated individuals.

Pay & Training: You will begin your employment working locally while learning our equipment, safety procedures, and demolition process.

Starting Pay:

$16.50 per hour.
Up to 50 hours per week available.
Weekly pay.
Paid training.

As your skills increase and you transition to the traveling crew, your pay will increase based on experience and responsibilities. When traveling overnight, you will also receive:

Company-paid hotel accommodations.
$40 per day meal per diem.

Physical Requirements:

This is an active, physical job. Applicants must be able to:

Stand and walk for 10-12 hour shifts.
Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Push and pull heavy materials.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Climb, bend, reach, and perform physical labor safely.

Qualifications:

Valid driver's license required.
Must pass a background check (no felony convictions).
Must be able to travel overnight Monday through Thursday.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
